Born on a trip to Las Vegas in 2006, Rearview Films is the creation of Nick Welter and Kevin Schweer. We're not professionally trained. We didn't set out to be screenwriters. We saw what were a truly bizarre set of individuals that make up the street peddlers that canvass the Las Vegas Strip and asked, "What if two guys like us were to try to get into the business?", and from there invented a backstory of what their lives must really be like. It sounded so good one night that over a few beers, we decided to try writing something down. And after a year of writing, and another year of honing, we proudly were able to present Pornslappers as a completed project. It turned out pretty well, and a lot of folks have really enjoyed reading it... so much so that we're on the road on our second script. Here's a little more info about us.
Nick Welter

Nick Welter is a lifetime native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a place where alcoholism is still treated more as a running joke than a damaging affliction. It’s that very humor that has allowed him to take a BS in Geology from UW-Milwaukee and try to turn it into an unprofitable screenwriting career. Nick currently resides in the suburb of Delafield with his beautiful wife who provides him with support and infant son who provides him with material.

Kevin Schweer

Kevin Schweer grew up in Addison, Illinois … what folks from Chicago call “the wrong side of the tracks”, where a good joke can save you from a beating. He’s seen it all, from being a former Mr. Chicago bodybuilding champion, to night club operator, to running his own limousine business for the rich and famous. Kevin’s degree is from the school of hard knocks, which although won’t get you to Wall Street, is a big help when it comes time to write a comedy.

“Pornslappers” is Nick and Kevin’s first screenplay. It was born out of the idea that natural characters like those that line the Vegas Strip have a story that writes itself. “We weren’t writers looking for a story idea… we had a story idea and said ‘hey, let’s become writers!” They are currently well into a second screenplay that does not involve those who peddle smut on the streets of Vegas.
